Optimal Energy – Joule Electric Paris and Geneva Show Cars

Various interior and exterior parts were prototyped for the Paris 2008 and Geneva 2010 show cars. A combination of 3D printing, CNC machining, fabrication and vacuum casting were used.

Ignite – Racing Boots

Scale model Adidas F50 boots were handmade and fitted to model racing cars for the launch of the boot for the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa.

Leatt – Moto GPX Brace

This product is used to protect motorcyclists' necks in an accident. Our client needed us to create prototype parts for them to do pre-production tests with as well as FEM analysis to be done on their CAD files.

Leatt – Moto R Brace

This product is used to protect racing drivers' necks in an accident. Our client needed us to create prototype parts for them to do pre-production tests with as well as FEM analysis to be done on their CAD files.

Caudwell Marine – Engine Test Parts

Thirty sets of more than 30 different engine components were made for engine testing including buttons, grommets, steering cradles, water pipes, ECU covers, oil pick-ups, water pick-ups, caps, seals etc. To produce these parts we used combinations of machining, 3D printing, hand finishing, fabrication and silicone tooling.

Chrome Cherry – Y-bike

These prototypes were used as marketing devises before the client commissioned production tooling. They also won 2nd runner up in South African toy of the year awards in 2007 and based on the prototype, the product only launched two months later.

Terrestrial – Arivi Kerosene Stove

The Arivi kerosene stove was designed to be a safer option than existing paraffin stoves.

Freeplay – Self-powered Fetal Heart Rate Monitor

The fetal heart rate monitor is used in rural and mobile clinics to monitor a baby's heart rate whilst still in the womb. The product is self-powered to be independent from any electrical source.

Itron – Electrical Housing

This electrical housing was a prototyping project for the purposes of pre-testing certification of high voltage flash-over.

Holbert – Bloodhound Protective Sleeve V2

This project started with the short run manufacture of a sleeve for the Mark I Bloodhound project, included the complete prototyping of the current product, and finished off with the design and prototyping of the latest sleeve.

Freeplay – Indigo Lantern

The Freeplay Indigo lantern is a self-powered multiple LED lantern. Freeplay make extensive use of fully working, fully cosmetic prototypes to generate sales before commissioning any tooling.

Paul Edmunds – Roll

An artist, Paul Edmunds, commissioned us to 3D print a design based on a skate board wheel. This was used as a master part for a silicone mould through which the part was replicated and used in his artwork. The versatility of the prototyping methods and materials continually amaze the artists we service.

EMSS – Base Station

Our client needed a model which they could use as a training tool to educate their workers about the dangers of their working environment. The model had to depict the areas that are dangerous around a mobile phone base station.

The Freeplay Ranger is a self-powered FM/AM radio with solar panel. Freeplay make extensive use of fully working, fully cosmetic prototypes to generate sales before commissioning any tooling.
