The customer brief was to design a replacement battery pack for a 2-way radio used by emergency services. The customer did not want to develop a separate battery charger solution. The end result was a replacement battery pack making use of Li-Ion cells with the charging circuit internal to the battery pack. The radio was therefore very easy to charge directly from any 12V source including a vehicle cigarette lighter. Skeg manufactured and supplied the product in volume.
