Industrial Design
The product incorporated manufacturing procedures from Stainless Steel investment casting, injection moulding, compression moulding and PCB and loom manufacture. All these disciplines needed to be integrated to shape the high end product.
Key product functions that needed to be designed were electronic switch mechanisms, a backlit keypad, weather seals and positive position mechanisms for the port and starboard controlled lever handles.
Due to the high performance finish of the stainless steel parts and integrated thermoplastics and polyurethanes, detailed CAD and surface analysis was used to design and validate the product deliverables.
