Industrial Design Rogue Security Systems required a portable product that picked up movement when armed and dispensed teargas while sounding an alarm. The product geometry was driven by the electronics, gas canister and motorised mechanism that dispensed the gas. The product had a cosmetic requirement to blend into the home environment and not appear intrusive and dangerous to the consumer.
Electronic Development: The electronic design began with an investigation into suitable methods of intruder detection which resulted in a design and testing of an ultrasonic movement sensor. Additional items included in the design were RF remote, motor mechanism with feedback and display.
Prototyping Fully working prototypes were manufactured making use of 3D printing silicone tooling and vacuum casting. All mechanical mechanisms were machined and the PCB's were manufactured and assembled entirely in-house.
