Industrial Design
We have built up extensive knowledge in turbine applications in the sub 50mm range. The Pelton wheel development has culminated in a turbine that is 25mm in diameter and has 50% total system efficiency, from hydraulic power to rectified DC output. Multiple versions were designed, prototyped and eventually tooled for injection moulding.
We have developed a range of axial flow turbines with complete and partial inlet nozzles, internal and external generators, axial and radial flux generators and have extensive test data for each permutation. We develop the entire turbine from the nozzle and blade geometry to the electromagnetic devices. Extensive use is made of CFD analysis for optimizing the turbines.
Turbines as small as 15mm OD have been built and tested successfully. Turbines are made in various materials and methods for testing purposes and eventually tooled for injection moulding.
